Ruby Chiu Hoss – Chair of Executive Committee


Ruby has been the managing director of AirPlus Industrial Group which has diversified business activities for many years.  The group consists of AirPlus Asia, Sea Gull Industrial, Lok Hin Shanghai, Trade Plus Asia and representative offices.  One of the business units engages in air engineering design, consulting and supply of HVAC systems, components and parts to textile manufacturing plants. It is in strategic alliance with local sales agents in South Asian countries and the original machinery manufacturers in China and Italy.  There are units focused on import and export trading of industrial products and others deal with property management and investments in local and overseas markets of Shanghai, China and Switzerland, Europe. 

In her present capacity, she is responsible for implementing and updating company strategies, increasing shareholder return and enhancing company performance and operational efficiency.  She leads and coaches her staff and supports them for professional development.

Her past significant role prior AirPlus, she was an executive director for the regional quarter of a leading Swiss conglomerate before its privatization for some years. She reported to her parent company in Zurich Switzerland for the financial assignments, managerially administered its office in Hong Kong, performed regular internal audits for its Taiwan office and engaged in joint-venture setting up and infrastructural project financing for its Shanghai office.

She holds a graduate diploma in consulting and change management in addition to other professional diplomas in commercial and business studies, a master degree of business (M Bus) in e-commerce and a master degree of business administration (MBA).  She is a certified management accountant (CMA, Australia) and a certified management consultant (CMC) of The International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMI).  

She was the honorary treasurer (2014/2016) and honorary co-chair membership (2010/2014) at IMCHK, the local institute of ICMI. She taught postgraduate diploma course for management consulting held by IMCHK & Hong Kong Productivity Council.  She is a guest speaker for continuous professional development (CPD) seminars and an occasional MC for happy ceremonies.

She fulfils from her charity work experience, supports WWF marine conservation of no shark fin in banquet menu and shares healthy veggie recipes among relatives and close friends in her spare time.

Dr William Chen – Deputy Chair of Executive Committee

Dr. Chen has over 20 years financial management experience with local and global high-growth companies in food & beverage chain stores, manufacturing and distribution for FMCG and apparel retailing sectors with operations in the Greater China & Asia Pacific region. He is currently a Group CFO and General Manger (HK & Macau) for Hui Lau Shan Group, a dessert chain with over 260 stores in Hong Kong, PRC, South Korea and Malaysia. Prior to this position, he provided financial leadership to top-level operating and management executives in KFC (HK), Lee Kum Kee, San Miguel and Chanel.
Dr. Chen earned his doctorate degree in Business Administration from Curtin University. He is a Fellow Certified Public Accountant and Certified Tax Adviser in Hong Kong, a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant and Fellow Certified Management Accountant in Australia, a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant in UK and a Certified Management Consultant.
Dr. Chen is Chairman of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, HK branch and is honorary advisor of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants, HK Office. He has served as Specialist and Financial Expert for Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic & Vocational Qualifications. He speaks regularly at various professional associations and finance forum.

Andrew Ma - Treasurer of Executive Committee

Andrew Ma is experienced in corporate advisory and financial planning, where he covered in Merger and Acquisitions, Enterprise Risk Management, Wealth and Portfolio Management, Tax Planning and Accountancy. He also has more than 15 years of tax experience advising clients in various industries and sectors.

He currently is a committee member of members and students services committee of the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong. Andrew also is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERCM professional, Certified Management Accountant in Australia and Certified Tax Adviser in Hong Kong.

Andrew is currently the director of business advisory firm and property agency firm in Hong Kong.

Andrew graduated with Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) in Financial Services from Edinburgh Napier University, UK and a Master of Finance from Curtin University.

Carrie Wong – Acting Secretary of Executive Committee

Carrie holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Commerce with double major in Accounting and Finance from Curtin University of Western Australia, graduating in 2006.

She has worked with a number of sizable banks and now working for one of the largest bank, with a focus on Regulatory Reporting, Accounting Project and Control.  She is a member of the CMA (Australia) and the Institute of Public Accounts (IPA).

Damian Babis – Member of Executive Committee

Mr Damian Babis, Founder and Managing Director of Capital People, is a talent acquisition professional with over 17 years' experience in business and human resources consulting. He founded Pacific Elite Holdings Ltd in Hong Kong in 2000, servicing a client base across the APAC region.

He holds both a Postgraduate Diploma and Bachelor Degree in Business (Accounting) from Curtin University and is qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Dr Allen Lim – Member of Executive Committee

Allen is currently a Project Director with a major local horticultural and arboriculture company. He is a dynamic business and operational professional with almost three decades of experience across Production, Construction, Design, Logistic, Lawn Care and viticulture industries. Allen is currently responsible for the development and execution of advocacy in horticulture & arboriculture training and revenue campaigns across multiple direct vehicles - high end technology application within the industry etc.

Allen's degree is in Horticulture, with a series and business concentration, and specialising in post-harvest.

Dr Philco Wong – Member of Executive Committee

Dr Wong is a chartered civil engineer by background who has over 35 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure projects in Hong Kong, the Mainland of China and overseas. He is currently the Projects Director of MTR Corporation responsible for the delivery of new railway projects from design to completion.

Dr Wong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba, Canada and a Master of Engineering degree in Construction Management and Engineering from the University of Toronto, Canada. He was awarded a Doctor of Business Administration degree by Curtin University, Australia.

Dr Wong is enthusiastic in participating in community and professional services. He is a fellow member of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and the Institution of Civil Engineers in the UK. He is the chairman of the Benevolent Fund Committee of The Lighthouse Club. He is also currently the Vice President of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and a council member of Construction Industry Council. In addition, Dr Wong is an adjunct professor in the school of Civil Engineering of Tsinghua University in Beijing.

Stuart Sanders – Member of Executive Committee

Stuart was awarded a degree in chemical engineering and had an early career in the petrochemical industry.
Stuart has been in Hong Kong since 1993 and has over 18 years of experience in delivering IT services and cyber-security consulting to business in Hong Kong. For over 10 of those years Stuart ran his own company, successfully delivering IT solutions and strategies to fund and other businesses in Hong Kong, including a Hang Seng main board listed firm. Stuart merged with the Velocity Group in 2011 and now consults to businesses, particularly funds and other finance organisations, on IT and cyber-security issues under both the Hong Kong and Singapore regulatory authorities. In 2015, Stuart co-authored an Amazon Best Selling Book on cyber-security called Under Attack.
Stuart is passionate about advising firms and individuals on the constantly changing landscape, and threats that we face in an ever more connected world.

Joe Wu – President of Management Committee

Joe holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Donghua University in Shanghai, a Master of Engineering Science from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, a Postgraduate Diploma in Investment Management from the University of Hong Kong SPACE and a Master of Finance from CBS, Curtin University. He is also a full corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Building, UK.

Joe has described himself as an engineer with commercial sense. He is currently working as a planning engineer with Australian Construction Group based in Hong Kong, where he has been engaged in a number of vital mega infrastructure and building projects in the Hong Kong and Macau region such in the fields of planning, controlling and project management. In his spare time, Joe is a super soccer fan, an enthusiastic game watcher and a dedicated player.

Lewis Kwok - Vice President of Management Committee - Social Media

Lewis Kwok is an Executive Financial Planner and Senior MPF Consultant in AIA International Limited. He provides financial planning and insurance services to individual and corporate clients.

Lewis was awarded International Quality Award (IQA) from Limra in 2014 to 2016. Also he is the member of The Life Underwriters Association of Hong Kong (LUAHK) and received the LUA Quality Advisor Award (QAA) in 2016.

Besides, he attained professional qualification Associate Financial Planner (AFP) in Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong, and Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) in International Association of Registered Financial Consultants.

Lewis earned a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (Marketing and Logistics) from Curtin University of Technology in 2007.

Max Chu – Deputy Vice President of Management Committee - Social Media

Max is the head of sales & distribution department of Bits n Pieces Group which import & export, and distribute food and gifts products in Hong Kong, Mainland China and other overseas countries.  He holds a Master Degree in Finance from Curtin University and a Master Degree in Law (Economic) from Beijing Renmen University of China.

Coby Leung – Vice President of Management Committee – Event Management

Coby Leung is a recruitment consultant in the Banking and Finance division of Robert Walters, a world-leading recruitment consultancy. She is a graduate of Curtin University in Commerce, with a major in Accounting, and previously worked in the accounting departments of various companies. Her expertise and practical experience in commercial accounting help her to fully understand and match her candidates and clients’ needs.

Before joining Robert Walters, Coby worked at Paycelerate, a fin-tech start-up where, as the first accountant, she implemented a complete HR and Accounting system from scratch. Coby was also the founder of Elegant Flowers Limited, an online floral business which produced floral designs for weddings, corporate events and home decoration. She truly believes that flowers can bring a little beauty and happiness to everyone’s lives. Through engaging with business clients as a florist, she realised that working with people was what she enjoyed most, which led to her to a career in recruitment consulting.

Coby really enjoyed her time at Curtin University, where she was involved in various volunteer and leadership activities, including AIESEC, Student Leaders and the John Curtin Leadership Academy. Her volunteer work on a vegetable garden at Curtin led her to learn flower design on her return to Hong Kong, which indirectly led to recruitment consulting. In the end each step you take leads to the next one and everything comes together. She now enjoys guiding others through their careers and in search of their dream job.

Annabel Choi – Deputy Vice President of Management Committee – Event Management

Annabel works in the Sales & Marketing team of a multi-international group. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Management from Curtin University. Her hobbies include making friends, travelling, photography and yoga.

Don Wong - Vice President of Management Committee – Marketing and Promotion

Don is an angel investor, private equity investor and start-up enthusiast. He is very keen on encouraging local Hong Kong young generation to start-up companies.

Don is currently the Vice President of Pan Asian Mortgage Company Limited, where he manages business unit, IT and trust servicing. He is also the founder of a boutique dance school Little Duck Dance and Arts Academy. Don previously worked in financial advisory firms, equity fund, major bank and venture capital in HK and heavily involved in early stage investments. He has been a judge/advisor for several major local venture programs including StartmeupHK by InvestHK and Pan-Asia Venture Development Platform.

Don obtained his Master of Finance from Curtin University, MBA from The University of Iowa, Master of Science from CUHK and Bachelor of Engineering from HKU.

Dr Alan Lee - Deputy Vice President of Management Committee – Alumni Engagement

Dr. Lee has been a member of Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors since 2008 and is accredited as an Approved Valuer for Undertaking Valuations for Incorporation or Reference in Listing Particulars and Circulars and Valuation in connection with Takeovers and Mergers by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors in 2010.

Dr. Lee has joined Roma Appraisals Limited as an associate director since 2011, from where he has gained substantial experience in performing property valuation for various purposes including but not limit to statutory, mergers and acquisitions, financing, IPOs, migration, joint ventures, debt issuance, REIT, accounting, rent reviews, independent valuations, arbitration, litigation, insurance, taxation, due diligence, etc.

Pamela Maguigad - Management Committee Member– Alumni Engagement

Pamela Maguigad

Pamela graduated from Curtin University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Architectural Science). During her time as a student, Pamela received several scholarships and nominations involving international think tank collaborations and exchange trips across Europe and South-East Asia.

Her academic travels have brought her to notable cities including Dijon, Paris, Singapore, and particularly during her time at Curtin, Ho Chi Minh City and Miri. She was one of two off-shore students from Hong Kong nominated to participate in the 2016 LiveABILITY Vietnam Internship Project organised by Global Design Studio. In the same year, she received a scholarship to take part in the 2017 LiveABILITY Malaysia Project which took place in the Curtin Sarawak campus in Miri, Malaysia.

Pamela is passionate about community engagement and empowering ethnic minority groups in Hong Kong. She developed her passion for community work back in secondary school where she received an Outstanding Performance in Community Services award in 2010. She has actively pursued this passion since.

She continued her efforts as a volunteer at Project Ethnic Minority Empowerment, a non-profit initiative that advocates for Hong Kong's ethnic minority youth. Her passion extended throughout her undergraduate programme where she dedicated her final project towards social housing for migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong.

Pamela now volunteers at HELP for Domestic Workers, a non-profit group that provides assistance on immigration and human rights issues. She is keen on developing a career in pursuit of empowerment and social change for women and migrant workers.

Jessica Cheung - Management Committee Member - Event Management

Jessica holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from Curtin University and she continued to actively participate in AIESEC activities and Curtin Volunteers while at Curtin. She is currently an accounting staff of a listed company.

Katherine Cheung - Management Committee Member - Event Management

Katherine Cheung, over 5 years in the secretarial industry, currently is the secretary in Chief Executive Office in The Dairy Farm Group providing supports to the Group CE Office in daily operation, meetings, events organization and preparation. Prior to joining Dairy Farm Group, she was the secretary to the Head-hunter firm to support the Consultant Team.  Previously, she was a merchandiser in different industries, mainly to contact with different countries’ buyers, designers and factories for sourcing and products follow up from development to production.

She earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing & Advertising) from Curtin University and got an advanced Diploma in Management Studies in HKU SPACE.

Katherine likes playing yoga, reading books, watching movies and travelling.

AIESEC activities and Curtin Volunteers while at Curtin. She is currently an accounting staff of a listed company.

Nicole Lo - Management Committee Member - Event Management

In 2012, Nicole completed a Master of Accounting degree at Curtin University and she hold a Bachelor degree in Management and Business from University of Glamorgan. She is currently working as an accountant, in an advisory and service provider role.

Her interests include travelling and experiencing different places and cultures around the world. She has made many friends on the journeys she has taken as a result.

Panda Chan - Management Committee Member - Event Management

Panda earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Marketing and Advertising) from Curtin University in 2009. She has solid experience in event management and e-marketing. Currently she is a marketing officer in an association, where she is responsible for business development, membership and event management.

She is a movie lover and also enjoys reading during her spare time when there is no sunshine.

Sunny Wu – Member of Management Committee – Marketing and Promotion

Sunny is new in Curtin alumni activities. He holds a degree for computer science from Curtin University.

Sunny's career has focused on IT ERP (SAP) consulting by providing IT strategy and solution for business operation correlated to financial and treasury management, sale supporting, material management, production and warehouse management, project management and estate management. Serving industry included Accounting firm (BIG 4), food production industry, public sector, Trading business and Manufacturer.

Theresa Yip – Member of Management Committee – Marketing and Promotion

Theresa graduated from Curtin University of Technology with the Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing and Advertising). She completed a Master of Insurance and Risk Management in 2013 and qualified with the Fellowship of Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).

She is currently working with an international insurance broker firm and provides professional services on liability insurances for large corporate clients. During her leisure time, Theresa keeps a series of regular sports like Thai boxing, yoga and running.

Yoko Lok - Management Committee Member - Alumni Engagement

Yoko is working in the Sales and Customer Services Department at a Japanese company over ten years which has given a good all-round sales and customer services knowledge. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Marketing and Logistics) from Curtin University of Technology, Australia and MSc in Operation Management and MSc in Quality Management at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
