1966 Physics Reunion
50 years of Physics at the Bentley Campus
Prior to the establishment of the WA Institute of Technology (WAIT), the Perth Technical College delivered some courses at the Bentley Campus.
On Friday 2 December 2016, over 50 Physics students and staff from 1966 and beyond gathered in the Physics Building at Curtin University for a 50 year reunion. It was incredible to see so many people reconnecting after 50 years of being apart!
Tom Grace and Fred Deshon (Associateship in Applied Physics 1966), with assistance from longstanding Adjunct Professor Mervyn Lynch and Melat Habtemariam from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, coordinated an impeccable event whilst working incredibly hard to find so many graduates and staff members from the very early years.
We would like to sincerely thank them for their time and contribution to Curtin’s alumni community. We would also like to make special mention of the Department of Physics and Astronomy for hosting the reunion.

Over 15 Civil Engineering graduates from 1995 and 1996 caught up on Saturday 22 October 2016 in Perth's CBD. The former classmates reminisced about their time on campus, and shared their journeys since leaving Curtin. It was a great night had by all.
On Friday 26 August 2016, almost 60 Mechatronic Engineering alumni, staff and current students gathered at Curtin University's Engineering Pavilion for a casual catch-up. It was great to see so many people reconnecting with old classmates. We are now looking forward to making this an annual alumni event.
In preparation for Curtin's Chemical Engineering department's 35th anniversary in 2017, alumni, staff and current students gathered together on 12 August 2016 at the Generous Squire for a social sundowner. A great night was had by all and we reconnected with over 50 Chemical Engineering graduates from 1988 to 2015. We are now looking forward to a bigger celebration in 2017.
If you are a Chemical Engineering graduate and would like to have your say about how you would like to celebrate and be involved in the 35th anniversary, you can do so via the online form.
On Sunday 22 May 2016 over 15 graduates from the Diploma of Education (early childhood) class of 1974 met at the Windsor Hotel for a social gathering. Thank you to Anne-Marie Pickford (Paxton) and Janet Bell (Peck) for organising the successful reunion and to all those that helped to reconnect everyone.
On Friday 29 April 2016 the Mechanical Engineering Class of 2006 celebrated 10 years since completing their Curtin degree. The social event was held at the Curtin Tavern, with nostalgic sustenance from Georges Kebabs to bring back memories of Friday nights at Curtin. Thank you to Tristan Rees for coordinating the event. Coinciding with Curtin's February graduation ceremonies, the WA School of Mines Alumni (WASMA) held a long table luncheon and award ceremony on Thursday 25 February at Curtin Stadium. The luncheon welcomed the class of 2015 to WASMA, congratulated medal recipients from each WA School of Mines department and celebrated the class of 1991 on their 25th anniversary since graduation. With over 123 WA School of Mines alumni, staff and students in attendance, the event was a great success. Thank you to Ann Meyer from the WA School of Mines Alumni for coordinating this annual event.
On Saturday 15 August 2015, the class of 85 celebrated 30 years of graduation as Occupational Therapists from WAIT.
