#PressforProgress: Celebrating International Women's Day 2018

We would like to invite you to be a part of Curtin's special International Women's Day breakfast event on Friday 9 March 2018 at our Bentley campus.

International Women's Day is observed around the world during March each year, allowing people from all walks of life the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women and support calls to accelerate gender parity.

The global theme for 2018 #PressforProgress urges individuals and communities to think, act and be gender inclusive.

This special breakfast for Curtin alumni and staff will include presentations and a panel discussion featuring prominent community figures and Curtin alumni.

Curtin Vice-Chancellor, Professor Deborary Terry AO, will host the event and participate in the panel discussion, which will also include:

Dr Sandy Chong: Curtin alumna, educator and mentor who is an advocate of higher education and economic empowerment for women and the youth.Sandy is Principal of Verity Consulting, Vice-President of the United Nations Association of Australia (WA) and a Global Ambassador of Inspiring Rare Birds, an incubator for female entrepreneurs.

Professor Linley Lord: Chair of Curtin’s Academic Board and a champion of Curtin’s membership of the Athena SWAN Australia Charter, which encourages greater participation of women in the STEMM areas (science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine).

Zen Mohamad Kassim: Senior Constable in the WA Police Community Engagement Division who works closely with migrants, refugees and women affected by domestic violence in Perth.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear from these inspiring leaders, join in the conversation, and #PressforProgress.
