The Hong Kong Metro System of the Past, Present and Future

The Hong Kong Metro System of the Past, Present and Future

Curtin University's Alumni Association Hong Kong has the pleasure of inviting you to attend a CPD seminar about the Hong Kong Metro System of the Past, Present and Future. The seminar will take place on Thursday 25 May at Cliftons, Hutchison House Central.

Over the past three decades, the MTR has had a profound effect on Hong Kong’s evolution from a seemingly unremarkable city into a modern metropolis. With a patronage of over five million passengers a day, the MTR plays a far bigger role in Hong Kong society than as a mere transport entity. MTR stations have become a focal point of the community, as convenient gathering points for shopping and cultural activities, such as station art exhibitions.

The seminar, presented by Curtin alumnus Dr. Philco Wong, Projects Director at MTR Corporation, will cover:

  • The history of the MTR
  • Challenges and innovations of the project implementation
  • Current major projects being undertaken by MTR
  • The Government’s Railway Development Strategy (RDS) 2014 and a series of future city-shaping projects.

Don't miss this valuable opportunity to learn more about the most requisite transport system in the city from an eminent industry leader, whilst also networking with fellow Curtin alumni and friends.
